We are a non-profit, volunteer organization with over 30 years of history providing competitive amateur golf tournaments for Michigan Seniors, men 50 and older.
We strive to provide good competition at many outstanding courses. Our purposes are consistent with those of the USGA:
1. To provide competitive golf opportunities for the membership.
2. To increase knowledge and awareness of the rules and traditions of golf.
3. To promote those values of the game of golf which relate to good health, friendship and fair play.
See the MPSGA History section for a great recap of the history of golf and the MPSGA.
You must be a male Michigan resident. You must have attained the age of 50 before the first tournament in which you wish to participate. In 2012 to be a full member with GAM/USGA privileges, you must enter at least 4 of the tournaments (State, Club Championship or the various Single Day events) during the year. The MPSGA is open to all public, private, and university course golfers.

The MPSGA conducts single-day tournaments throughout the summer months. All events are shotgun starts so it is possible to drive to the tournaments with friends and socialize following golf. We try to select high quality courses at reasonable prices. We also allow members the flexibility to pick and choose among the single day tournaments that best fits their schedule.
This is a three day medal play tournament at Shanty Creek Resort & Club in late August. It is our flagship event of the year. Many players bring family members with them to the area. Like our other events, this tournament offers both gross and net competition with 4 to 6 flights depending on the size of the field.
This new event is a single elimination match play tournament starting on July 18. There will be open and super-senior flights played at gross, as well as net flights using USGA handicaps. Entrants will be able to select the division in which they wish to participate. The finals in each flight will held at the Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony on September 13.

Our annual meeting is a thank you for your participation in the other events of the year. In addition to the brief meeting and golf, we include a continental breakfast, lunch, event prizes and present the awards for our full season competitions. In 2012, the Club Championship finals will also be played on this day.
MPSGA members can use the GAM handicap system to enter all their scores and to maintain an official USGA handicap. The GAM/USGA membership also allows MPSGA members with qualifying handicaps to participate in the various GAM and USGA championships and events throughout the year.
